Helping Hands

On behalf of our Board and Staff, we continue to be deeply moved by the overwhelming support for our Museum. Boston Children’s Museum continues to thrive, guided by the core principles of understanding the intrinsic value of play; supporting parents, caregivers, and educators; and embracing change and innovation. These foundations have remained critical areas where children and families have found joy through the power of play.

In fiscal year 2024, the Museum raised over $4.2 million in grants, sponsorships, and endowed gifts. This critical funding included support for the Museum’s Birth to Five: Play, Grow, Thrive initiative from an anonymous donor; a new collaboration with the City of Boston Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture to offer free museum admission to all Boston Public School students and their families two Sundays per month; and the start of a three-year afterschool STEAM program in partnership with National Grid.

Additionally, thanks to our generous community of supporters, the Museum has raised nearly $3 million in unrestricted support through the Helping Hands Campaign Annual Fund; our recordbreaking Wonder Ball gala, an enchanted fairy tale evening that raised over $625,000 for the Museum’s inclusive access programs; and our Family, Library, and Corporate Connections membership programs. Family Membership alone contributed nearly $1 million, marking a return to pre-pandemic levels of membership.

On behalf of the Museum team, we extend heartfelt thanks to our Board members and donors, our Corporate Connections, Library and Family Members, our Boston Marathon Team runners, and myriad others whose generosity makes our work possible. Your partnership and leadership enable us to fulfill our mission to engage children and families in joyful learning experiences that spark a lifelong love of learning.
